Stirling project, February 2026
At the beginning of February, I went out onto the streets of Stirling, SA, to photograph people I had never met before and to show how music can change.
I took photos of each person before and after a little bit of work for 10-15 minutes with what was worrying them at the time. All photos are original and unedited.
Lee
I met Leet on the street while she was happily walking during her holidays. She didn't have any particular problems at the time. We just talked about what Lee does for her work, and this is the outcome of our conversation and some work with music: "I became more connected with myself and felt gratitude and confirmation that I'm following my path in teaching people dance."
Dee
I met Dee straight after her work meeting. She felt quite stressed.
“I felt tension because of my work. I could let go of one conflict, relax, and remember who I truly am.”
Grace May
Grace was worried about being a mum and getting some time for herself: “After work with music, I felt connected to my childhood and what I could do - reading Harry Potter was one of my favourite things.
I remembered about music and that I want to listen to it more when I have free time.”
Maddison
During our conversation, Maddie felt quite worried about her baby’s cold and engaged in a lot of catastrophising. This is what she said after: “I felt more grounded and more in perspective, relaxed and became certain that everything is going to be ok with my child.”
